What is the techy term for the fixture that is in the side of the engine block in which the oil filter screws on to it??

Is it an oil filter adapter?

Oil filter stud?

Also, can this part be purchased separately somewhere?

thx!

oil filter mount....did you break yours?
nope - doing a 5.0 Bronco engine rebuild and I need the correct "oil filter mount" for a 94 Bronco, as the block I am working with has the wrong type. So, I removed the one that is not needed and I'm looking for the correct one (or a source for one).

I went to Auto Zone and NAPA, and neither of those places understood what I was seeking. Because they did not understand what I wanted (even though I explained it in very simple layman's terms & grabbed an oil filter to show them where it would insert), their computer could not fnd the part because THEY could not look it up... ugh

So the official term is "oil filter mount"? Is this part available from .... who?

hmm you're asking for the right part..but i dont know where you'd buy one

i do know that with my transmission filter kit the instructions called it a "threaded nipple". That kit is a remote filter kit and uses the same oil filters as the broncos 5.0

you are just talking about the threaded peice right?
