Hell, he should be proud to have a son that's workin' on something like that! Tell him to count his blessings you're not being ghey and "pimpin'" a fart-pipe & park-bench-wing Honda.

I got the same prob. Dad and mom hate me. I use all my dads tools and get the "dirty". I have my mom's greenhouse that was added onto the garage packed totally full of car parts....space is a hot commodity at our place

Does your dad go nuts when you get the floor dirty, like jsut dirt or spill a little oil? Mine flips out, but he can do it and it isn't a big deal
That's the reason my truck isnt allowed in the garage any more. And yes every tool has to be put away everyday and the floor and all the work benches swept off too. But hey I can't complain I've got +$100k in Snap-on tools and equipment to play with.

The ZF swap seems more appealing to him since he likes driving stick but the SAS with 6" of lift always makes him shake his head, if I ever convince him to go wheelin with me when it's done and I show him what it can do I bet he'll smile but he wont want to admit he did.

Man, sucks for ya'll. I should take a picture of our place and everything we have parked/hidden/piled up. And it's mostly my dad's junk aside from my extra Bronco parts - a tailgate, topper, axles, factory roll bar and spare wheels/tires. The rest is all his junk.

WTF... I'm working 6am-4:30pm Mon-Sat and working my other job a couple nights a week and on weekends while doing an SAS and a ZF swap so I know what you mean. I'm just glad daddy isn't building/buying my truck

yep all my dads tools have to be nice and shiny when i am done and put in teh correct place, if one is missing or outta place he will know and you will hear him a mile away. If we are both working on something in the garage it is kinda like watching an episode of OCC. He always has somethin to say or yell.

same here, my dad has been in the machinist and mecanic stuff for 30yrs now. He just got out of being a mechanic at the road commision so he has all teh tools for stuff up to 3" and all the high quality shit.

There's a reason why we get anal about the tools. My step-son was so bad about the tools and mess that I stashed my Craftsman sets (bulk package) before he really got into working on his Ricer Mustang. Everything he touched got trashed, scattered, and/or lost. The tools he did use, like the allan wrenches, screwdrivers, misc sockets that weren't in sets, have all disappeared.

My garage was already pretty messy as it was; I just spent a week sorting out piles of crap from the junk I haven't brought myself to throw out yet. I found maybe a quarter of what's missing; the most used tools are gone though. I'm just glad I stashed my good stuff when I did. He's moved out now, and his dad bought him his own set of tools, so I think mine are safe now.

thank god I have my own place......I can do whatever I want whenever I want. Only thing that sucks is I wish i had a bigger garage(already a 3 car) and more tools. I have a shit load of high dollar tools at work but hardly anything at home along the lines of hand tools. Sucks having to buy 2 sets, Its hard enough affording my main set for work.
