hey guys id like to clean up my rims and paint them what kind of paint should i use for painting them??

Depends on what you're after. Do you want flat, semi-gloss, or gloss. Plan on getting them scratched up? Do you need easy touch up? Plan on laying some clear down?


Most people just get a cheap rattle-can black semi-gloss and call it done.

thats what I did. Hit them with a wire wheel spray painted them semi gloss,clear and your done

and how do they look and have they been holding up?

There is a whole selection of "rim paint" at local auto stores. I would get that and call it good. I had a friend who painted some old rims gloss black and other than a bit of orange peel look, they turned out nice. They lasted a year before they began to show signs of flaking. But this was his DD and used it a lot! But if you do it right and add a few good coats of clear, you may get by for a while if you just do occasional offroading.
