Went up to the Panamint Mountains this past weekend with Chemfrk, WasACop and some 4 wheelers from my work and had a great time. I managed to roll my axle on the trail and had to do some "field" repairs to get it home. I want to thank WasACop who supplied me with a spare set of wedge blocks (I broke one and cracked the other) and brought up his jack stands to get my truck back on the road as well as Chemfrk for helping me nurse my Bronco home. Broke Bronco and all, I still had a great time. Weather was great, a little cold at night and there was huge patch of ice on the trail that prevented us from going up to the meadow and over to another canyon. They found a big mud hole to play in when they went over to Charlie Manson's old place as all the vehicles came back covered with mud. I'm looking forward to the next trip after I fix my axle.

Ziggy, WasACop and all others,

Thank you for a great weekend, The Chow was great (Ziggy is an awesome cook/host/guide) the cabins were incredible and the company was entertaining.

The trails were great, lots of technical stuff and highspeed distance runs.

I will get the pics on SM (350+ of them) and post a few here with links.

Thanks again Ziggy and WasACop... I can't wait until the next rip.

nice wide bridge

first sign of snow

then ice

this stuff was impassable,

the angle of the road and the 6+ inches of ice that was smooth as glass ended this run. so we backed down a few hundred feet until we could turn around.

back down the road to camp, great views...

and off to the next mine...

the rest of the pics will go up later,,,
but all i can say is... wow, what a great trip.

If you know the guy that owns the Jeep, this is his normal routine on one of these trips.

Jeeps - Just empty every pocket.
"It's a Jeep thing, you don't understand" - And I have no desire to understand.

After this past weekend, all I can say is -
FORD - Faithful Off-Road Drive
