plastic plug missing....?

:whiteflag I went to change my oil tonight and the plastic plug right to the rear of the drain plug is missing, looked at the maint. manual and I can't get the info I need... or about it......

what is it........?don't remenber seeing it before, I guess because it was always their.....

It's just a dust cover. That's the hole you need to access the torque converter drain plug. IIRC, there was a TSB for that plug falling out, believe it or not. While it won't hurt anything in the short-term (it's not water- or air-tight by any means), it may in the long-term from dirt and road crud getting up there, potentially ruining the front pump seal or worse.

Do you own another ford truck/car? I would assume so with the screen name being Cleveland???

I have owned other fords in the past....but, never a bronco....

new and learning alot about broncos as i go along....always liked them and finally got one a short time ago.........I had to look for a couple of years tho to get one that wasn't rusted out........

With your screen name though, only reason I ask is that you do realize if you have a newer Ford Truck it would have the 351 windsor motor?

I've been sneaking around your site lately. It always amazes me the junk you've assembled. I found a link to all my Tcase pics as well. I'm planning on a full writeup on that soon, that will hopefully provide a ton of answers all in one thread. broncodriver has expressed interest in running it then.

Anyway, sorry for the piracy, back to regularly scheduled programming.

Yes I did.

The shifter is indeed only 1 for the E4OD and it's that plunger style (this one is a used one from a 1997 F250 with E4OD. Here is a pic of it next to the floor opening everyone talks about....that glue is a SOB in trying to remove the plate. You can also clearly see the 2 bolt threadings in the E4OD where the shifter plate mounts:

All installed, ready to bolt seat back down (I pulled all the wiring from under the truck at this time as well). The shifter boot/plastic cover is from a 1996F150 with E4OD.:

Have not done the full writeup yet though since I need a few pics of the linkage, and the Tcase all bolted up under the truck, and then of course the hopefully successful test drive and 4 wheel operation.
