I'd like to mount my Hi-Lift on the front slope of my hood, but I'm sure the extra 60 lbs will cause lots of issues when its' open.

Can the tension of the hood springs be increased?

I'm thinking not...........

I'd put on gas lifts like on new vehicles.
But knowing you, I extect to see a hood prop :D

ORRRRRR!!!! new idea:
Can you doube up the springs???????
Bolt up 2 per side, get longer bolts for the fender then bolt them to the hood? :brownbag

The struts crossed my mind but aren't my style, too expensive, too prone to failure

I considered doubling up the springs, I've got more on my parts truck. Would just need to work out bracketry to mount them

It's not so much the price to KL, but too much bling for his taste ;)
Which is why I said, I'd do it. Everything I do is too much bling :D

Keith,

Are you trying to come up with ways to take your truck to the next level of craptacular? :slap How often do you use the high lift? I've often thought about mounting it on the passenger side of the frame. It might be a pain to get to, but it'd be out of the way. Maybe I'll do that with my 60" one and keep the 48" one on the cage.

Why not incorporate a mount into your next front bumper?

Mitch
