For what it's worth @bmad01, I think it's super cool what you do with the R/C boats. I used to race, back in the late 90s, R/C off-road open wheel 2wd trucks every Friday night. However, I was racing electric, so the only smells we would "enjoy" were the electrical burning smell of someone's fast-charger overheating and the only sounds we heard were the "whirrrrrrr" from the motors, plastic parts breaking when trucks would somersault off the track, and racers cussing other racers for causing wrecks! Ah, those were the days - spending hundreds on race trucks and winning a $50 gift card to the hobby shop when you won. :doh0715:
Thanks! A lot of effort is put into building a competitive boat, cash too! You were lucky to get a gift certificate. But that all comes from the entry fees. Most times I go home with a bad attitude after some newbie punched a hole in the side of my new boat!:banghead Then there is the politics. We got a bunch of tree hugging Democrats trying to boss around the Republicans. That would be the whole Gas Class! If we boycot a race, they suffer! From time to time I forget it's just a hobby and it's supposed to be fun.:doh0715:

I've posted this before, but....

I just met the guy who owns it. He has a towing business, and just towed my Bronco from the old house, to the new house (not with this unfortunately). My clutch master cylinder bit the dust.

This pic was a while back. Now it has a boom on the back and big winches front and rear. He's also got chains for the tires. Uses it for offroad recovery. Around here that means generally one of two things. Someone got stuck in a field, or someone got stuck on a two-track. The latter of which sometimes is bordered by steep, craggy ditches and laden with tractor ruts. Roads like this one. With all the rain this year, no one drove down it for months, and grass in the middle was 3 feet high. They had to MOW THE ROAD!

Yeah, I'd like a 4 blade prop. I think it would push me through the water a bit better.

I wonder if they make roller rockers for a '79 evinrude 6 HP?!
C'mon, you should know that a 6HP Evinrude is a two stroke, so no cam, and NO ROLLER OR ANY OTHER KIND OF ROCKERS!!!

It's all trial and error Joe. Too bad it cost's $100.00/prop to find out! I run ABC 2714/3 Choppers on just about everything. But then again racing @ 5120ft makes things different from the rest of the world!:histerica

Boy that brings back some memories. Mid-80's I worked in a local hobby shop here in Virginia. The owner, Dave Heindle and John Finch started Twincraft while I was there.

John was already an accomplished R/C boater with several US and international records to his name when he started building the Twincraft mono-hulls.

Seems like eons ago...

I know at one point Twincraft was sold to the guy who was actually doing the molding, but are they even around anymore?

Retired K9 Magnum passed away today.

He was the K9 under Cpl Jason Harwood, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop 5 years ago at the age of 40. If you've ever spent any off-duty time with a K9, you probably know they are some of the best, most loyal and loving dogs there are. I'm sure he was a connection to Harwood for his kids and wife.

Sorry Twincraft doesn't ring a bell. 90% of the hulls being built these days are built by a guy named Riggo in California. He's building Cat's, Mono's, Sport 40's for just about all the main vendors out there these days. Here is a blast from the past ever hear of a Cal Craft mono? I think that one goes back to the 90's. A Cal Craft 45 is my latest race mono!
