My grandfather worked for Bell Aircraft prior to or right at the beginning of WWII building these, Bell was in Buffalo NY at the time. He worked there because he knew how to form aluminum, he worked at Pierce Arrow before then (Pierce Arrows were aluminum bodied, and also built in Buffalo NY). The Airacobra was a unique aircraft, notice the mid-engine and the nose mounted cannon that fired through the prop driveshaft.

That's cool about your granddad, both at Bell and Pierce Arrow.

The P-39's were unique. Based on the book I'm reading pilots either loved them or hated them. Fast but apparently the weight distribution made them tricky to fly. Understand the 37mm cannon was prone to jam after 2 or 3 rounds as well.

Thought it was a cool photo with 4 .30 caliber guns (2 in each wing), 2 .50 caliber guns in the cowl and that prop shaft cannon all blazing away.

This is the guitar I built around 2010 or so. It is a copy of a Gibson SG made from 8/4 mahogany with an ebony fingerboard, diamond pearl inlays, headpiece of my own custom design, skull volume/tone knobs, two-way truss rod, and Carvin double humbuckers. It is covered in carbon fiber cloth and epoxy resin with Grover tuners, bone nut, and Gibson tailpiece. ???
