Are any of you guys up north using the preheat shroud that sits over the exhaust manifold and feeds warm air to the air filter (there is a vac operated valve in the fresh air intake).

Mine is missing, there seems to be no aftermarket need for it so I wondered if you guys in the cold have found these parts or if they are just not used anymore. This has always been one of the things I have always tried to leave on my vehicles as it does (in my opinion) help in cold weather. Lots of guys tear it off first thing.

I took my stovepipe 23 yrs ago

now i wish I still had it!

the truck I am building will have it as the damn carb freezes up on my current one when it is around 0 degrees before the engine completely warms up
it doesn't help I have a plastic 1'' carb spacer either

probably ebay or a bone yard only place to get one
you can probably make one too from some exhaust pipe or some scrap tin

yo,
I agree with tour thinking of needing it and Risuty's.
Our ex-78 was missing most of the shroud; was lucky to find what was last fairly good shroud in local Yard.
Probably make your own.
