I am rebuilding a 351w. A friend was helping to clean up some parts. We managed to keep the pushrods in order (by cylinder). But the orientation (up or down) is uncertain. All I have to go on is a little bit of crud that has built up towards the end of each shaft. Does anyone know if this would this appear near the rocker arms or lifters. Our should I just buy new. Thanks.

Just buy new ones; they're only a buck each (or less) for factory-style pieces at most auto parts stores.

ya if the tips are worn at all its gonna hurt performance, not to mention slight bends, and the oil holes being clogged up
