after wheeling this weekend im getting really tierd of this push button t-case. i have to fight with it for about 10 min to go into 4low. whats involved in swapping to the manual t-case? is it just swapping and cutting a whole in the floor for the shifter? or am i over simplifying it?

No, that's pretty much the in and out of it imo... I recently installed a new crate 302 and AOD and ended up making the same switch to manual.... Push buttons are for people in the future and Japanese imports.

I like my ESOF transfer case. It hasn't failed in 209,000 miles.

If you maintain it, it doesn't fail. And, the manual cases are just as likely to have binding and problems with the shift levers as the electronic cases are to have failures.
