Raf I am assuming that you are going thru a router after your modem.
you want to make sure that they are getting assigned an IP address from your router. to check this. Click on the start button goto Run. Type CMD hit ok a black command prompt box will pop up. type ipconfig and make sure that it is returning a line with a valid ip address prob gonna look like 192.168.0.XXX

If you are plugging in a switch to the modem it will not work for you.

the modem goes into a router which then goes to workgroup switches at the different stations..on our switch only 1 of the 3 are able to access anything..

i just did that ipconfig thing andit gave me an ip address similar to the one you posted..

when i click on the LAN status i get"limited or no conectivity".
