Guys/Gals,

I've been by several auto parts stores, and it appears that all of the rebuild(HELP section kits) have a larger diameter than the rag joint in my 89. The distance between the holes are also father apart on the kits. Is it possible that the PO changed out the steering shaft with something else FORD? If so, what else would fit.

Thanks for any suggestions.:banghead

There are 2, maybe 3 different sizes. I think the smaller one fits doges as well. Also if you are replacing the rag joint make sure you check the slip joint above it, lots of play there also and a real bummer to fix one joint and not have it solve your problem.

I do know that one of the rag joints in the help section fits the bumpside Fords. Like 67-72 F100's. That is what I used to replace mine and it fit great.

Thank for the info. I found the one that was the correct diameter... motormite 31002. Took some looking. However, I'll have to buy the correct harware to make it work. All of the parts counter guys kept showing me only the one that is listed for an 89.

Thanks Again.
