Ive got a '94 F150 4x4 Im running 33 inch tires on and was wondering what gear ratio would be best for it. The truck is a 4.9 with a 5 speed and 3.08 gears, needless to say it has a time pulling 33's. I have a set of 4.10's but dont know if thats too low? I wheel the truck some and pull a trailer so I just want to find a good all around gear. Anyone have any suggestions??

Search, and read the Gears sticky.

Regearing is extremely expensive. IMO, do it once and pick the ratio you're most likely to use for a long time. 4.10's are fine for 33's, but too low for 35's, so if you ever plan on going with bigger tires, you might want to consider it.

proved wrong

bronco4life. in your sig pic. you got your bronco to 85 mph. then you downed from "drive" to "2" to boom your revs up???
cuz its not in drive on that picture.
Broncos never came from the factory with 3.73's. So you're still proved wrong on your chit at least.

I know it's not in drive. I accelerated from a dead stop in first to 5000rpm, then slapped it into second and continued up to 85, and took the picture.

Took this one a few days ago, and now the 302 has 209,000 on it.

Dana never made them, and POS yukon just started offereing them it must be.

I still would not run them. I have never cared for yukon gears. I will stick to the better brand names. besides most broncos came with 355's. Who in thier right mind would regear to 3.73's.

:stupid

Even the difference between 3.55 and 4.10 isn't enough to warrant the cost, IMO. This re-gearing shit gets expensive quickly, moreso if someone else is doing the labor. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I'm on 31s and saving for 4.56 gears. Even at 85 mph, I'll still be under 3000 rpm! Compare that to the ~2300 rpm I'm pulling at that speed now, and it's clear to see the difference isn't as much as you'd think.

Hell, my Mustang has 3.73 gears on tires that measure 25.6 inches in diameter (225/60-R15), and that thing has no problem gettin' its freak on at expressway speeds. With these larger tires, the gearing really needs some help!

I dunno i'm am still 50/50 on regearing on my 90 bko. 33's with 3.55's isnt too bad, i rarley do any long distance highway driving so I can stay under 2,000 rpms while doing like 55.

damn thats wierd cause my bronco with the 3:55s would only get to 70mph in second and shes screamin bouncin off the rev limiters. now with my 4:56s its roughly 62 mph before she starts hating me but she gets there QUICK. Mind yalls this is only on 31s:banghead.

yea, but he's starting with 3.08.

I think the 4.10 would be a good match.

I agree. back a few years ago when I went to 33s I went from 3:55s to 4:10s and though it was an improvement and gained back some gas mileage I lost when I went to the larger heaver 33s I should have gone 4:56s as I only had the OEM type of power - felt very factory with 4:10 and 33" tires.
