Has anyone ever added rear defrost to a rear window that came without it?

I assume that I could just find a working gate with heated glass and swap it on, get the wiring harness, and wire in the stock switch.

Mine is an 85, but I would also like to try to do this on a 78.

the wiring should already be there, just no switch or grid on the glass.
I got an 86 that was delivered to Florida, so no rear defrost, but the wiring was there

I´m planning to. Got the original switch and a generic defroster kit. Try looking in older posts for the circuit diagram, I´ve seen it before. If you don´t find it post and I´ll try to find it for you
