Again thanks to all the info here I found a problem.
Rear diff was low on oil, felt it bang when I took my foot off the gas on xway couple of times.
Searched here and found info on rear diff causing this, added oil now it seems ok.
Question is about leak.

Looking at rear of truck facing tailgate, leak coming f/left side of diff at axle, thinking its the seal. Also had some oil coming f/plug.
How difficult of a job is this to fix ?
Thanks again in advance to this site f/helping to keep d/d on the road.

"f/left side of diff at axle"

The hell is that supposed to mean? It's coming from where the pressed in axle tube meets the differential? Or it's coming from the wheel end of tube? Leaking from the left side of the cover?

Come on, this is the internet, remember, we can't actually see where it's leaking from. It might make sense to you, but it doesn't to us.

If it's an axle seal it's not difficult, just time consuming. Inexpensive too. Maybe take a pic and post it up!
