did u gravity bleed the brakes or use a vacuum system? all i can say is you got air in the system.. if he had a leak to make the brakes go to the floor u would see it in no time flat.. thats out.. ive done brakes for years and ive noticed when your putting new calipers on a vehicle sometimes it takes forever to get the air out... one day it took me two hours to do rear calipers on an old corvette.. do to air in the system.. bleed bleed and re-bleed.. if u still cant the air may be caught up near the resevoir.. get a buddy to sit in the car while u barely crack the lines on the master cylinder and slowly pump the brakes sometime the air will escape thats trapped near the master cylinder.. thats how i got the corvette rear calipers(4 piston) bled and had an awesome brake pedal .. give that a whirl and see if it helps.. but you always have to pump the brake pedal after doing brakes ive seen some try and back out of a garage without pumping them and ya should see how big there eyes get lol..
