I recently submerged my 90 bronco and after having the transmission rebuilt , ran good for about a week then the rear end locked up on me and would like any suggestions or input on how to go about repairing this, i believe everything in the truck is still stock and want to use this truck for mudding, what kind of gear ratio do i need and should i bother repairing the rear axle or replace it?

In all honesty, if its stock, I would find out the gear ratio and just replace it with a good used unit. You'll spend 3 times what you would pay for a decent used one rebuilding it, and if you do it yourself you'll still need a pinion depth gauge, and backlash gauge, and all that nifty stuff to set it up properly.

find one in a junkyard that has matching gear ratios, and swap it in. pull the axle out of a vehicle you can tell was in an accident, it'll probably be a good axle.

what have ya got to lose?
