i went into O'Reilly's and got this part number BS40620 i was wondering will this work for the rear main seal ? thats what they gave me so idk

I just purchased one from O'reily's as well. I'll see if I still have the box with the part number, but it fit without issue.

That's the same part number I have BS40620 and fit without issue. You should be fine

I know the seal ain't s*** top replace but getting there is the fun part. I gotta do mine too and I dread it.

2 piece is pretty easy to do in place.

You really should take that fel-pro seal back and buy the ford racing seal, part # M-6701-B302. The ford seal is made from Viton, a synthetic rubber that is good to nearly 400 *F

For a 351W the part # is M-6701-B351, again a viton seal.

Either runs $12 at summit

yeah i know its a heck of a job i have been trying to read as much on it as i can so i know what i am doing and the sucky thing was i was laying under my bronco last night and my exhaust is in the way so im gonna have to cut it to drop the tranny or i might try it with out removing the tranny

You need enough room to remove the flex plate bolts, so you're going to have to drop the trans. Split the transfercase from the trans then pull the trans out. Not too bad, just get a couple of 3' extentions so that you can get to the bell housing bolts.
