Been reading on roller cam conversions and have found the little problems on the 302 and 351 of eating the dist. gear. Well Has anyone heard of anything or done anything with roller cams for the 429/460. Crane has the cams and such but I want to know will it eat the gear off the dist.?

The reason the gears are "eaten" is because the cam shaft's gear is mad of a harder material. All you have to do to fix the problem is replace the gear on the distributor with the same metal. For example: steel If the cam gear is steel, then the distributor gear should be steel as well.

From what I was told by MSD after my Bronze gear was eaten

"The cam manufacturer should recommend a gear to be used."

If you go with an MSD there are 3 choices, cast steel, bronze, and steel Good luck with any other manufacturer. I also think you would be hard pressed to find one willing to replace the shaft(who knows how much $), gear($95) cap, rotor($50) and ship it back to me for the cost of... lets see.... Um I paid to ship it to them.
