I'm replacing my stock muffler with a Hooker Aero Chamber. The old muffler is round and 31 inches long input to output, the Aero Chamber is oval and 19.5 inches long. I've compensated for the additional 11.5 inches by welding an extension on the muffler side of the exhaust pipe. The old muffler has a round strap hanger supporting it held by two rubber grommets. However because my replacement muffler is shorter I cannot use the original strap. What can I use in it's place. I would like to make use of the existing hanger setup as much as possible.

Hi miesk5, I believe I'm going to have to cobble something together because of the difference in size and dimension between the old stock muffler as shown in your photo, yes it is a 5.8 but with a single 2.25 exhaust pipe. Thank you for your input.
