Went and checked out this Bronco. You can tell it was a Fire Department Fleet Vehicle. Has all the upgrades, lights, decals, etc... in it.

It's a 5.8L E4oD Manual everything else.

From the CL ad:

FULL SIZE BRONCO 5.8L READY TO ROLL!! 98XXX ORIGINAL MILES!! VERY RARE TO FIND ONE WITH SUCH LOW MILES FOR ITS AGE!! TOWING PACKAGE WITH CLASS 3 HITCH. NEW TIRES, BRAKES, FRONT END RECENTLY GONE THRU WITH NEW BALL JOINTS, TIE RODS, DRAG LINK, U-JOINTS AND ALIGNMENT OF COURSE. VERY COLD AC. CRUISE, AM-FM CASSETTE! POWER REAR WINDOW WORKS FROM REAR KEY OR DASH. CHANGED OUT STOCK BUCKET SEATS WITH TAN CAPTAINS CHAIRS FROM AN EDDIE BAUER. THEY DON'T MATCH INTERIOR, BUT ARE VERY, VERY COMFORTABLE!! ONLY DOWN SIDES ON THIS TRUCK IS USUAL BRONCO RUST ON TAILGATE AND DRIVERS SIDE ROCKER PANEL AS PICTURES SHOW, AND IT WILL POSSIBLY NEED A WINDSHIELD, IT DOES PASS NORTH CAROLINA INSPECTION, WHICH IS GOOD TILL MARCH '15. PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE!!
The bad:
Body mounts need replacing, radiator support needs replacing, windshield needs replacing (if it does not pass inspection). Other than that typical body rust.

Good:
Runs great and top shape! he has replaced a lot of things. Floorboards are rust free. It's pretty clean and ALL STOCK! No one has tried to mod it at all.

I could not drive it today because only his son was available. So Friday he will be availble for me to drive it.

I brought up all the things wrong with it and he understood and said price can be lowered. I am thinking if all checks out after the drive $2000 will be my price.

Good price for it?????

got no help on the vin research, but looks like a pretty decent rig to start with. :thumbup

You wanted that Porno-Red didn't ya? That's why you let the Blue Surfista go, isn't it?
Come on ginger boy, tell the truth! :goodfinge :haha

Seriously though... if the few listed items are it, you'll have a real solid base to start off.
The body mounts huh? Maybe a small (1" - 2") body lift, while you're in there? Then you can get a 4" susp. later and have that extra tire clearance for flexing 35's. :shrug
Jumping the gun here... sorry.

Interior looks in fantastic shape and I would imagine the FD probably treated it better than a little old lady. Glad to see you coming back around bud! :beer

Faster recovery than I had. :brownbag

Yea I didn't think I was getting into another one this year or hell even next. But my company acknowledged hard work and time I have spent (Along with just dropping a big project on my plate) and gave me a good raise. :beer

I can afford to get something so I have been looking and this one seems nice for the specs and price. Plus I went out wheeling on the beach with some friends over the weekend and missed my Bronco SOOOOOoooo much!!:cry

I dunno...the two FD Broncos, and all the city rigs Everett still owns and has not yet decided to surplus, that I have seen, they all have bench seats and no real frills. Which means that this rig got the EB seats and center console after the "FD"...or no "FD." Also, there would be visible extras, such as a large dome light, screw holes for equipment that was mounted, etc. Ford Special Service rigs always come with the extra goodies, so it should have a high output alternator, a 4- or 5-core radiator, the largest aux trans cooler, etc.

You can't really see it in the picture but on the side door it has the finish of "Blacksburg Fire Fleet" someone has tried to buff out. The EB seats are from the owner of it now he swapped them in.

It does have switch on lighting inside. You can see one in the pictures above. They ordered it from Ford which I assume is why its registered as a Bronco Custom.

nah... my 1990 is a "Bronco Custom". It's the bare bones package, unlike the Ranger, XLT, etc.
No electric windows, no roof liner, no fancies... just pure Bronco baby! :toothless

No problems found! x100
Sounds like a good score! :rockon

Sounds like a good score! :rockon

Yea I think It is, hopefully the drive on Friday goes well and we can make a deal on the price. I think $2000 is a reasonable offer for it.

starting from $2700... $2000 is a decent offer, but pretty big drop for the owner to swallow. I'd be prepared to go up to $2300 and still wouldn't feel too bad about it. :shrug

I paid $3200 for mine... but I'm on the other side of the states and the PO (not the one I bought it from, but the old FSB member) replaced the engine, tranny and more, so I still felt pretty good about it. :thumbup
