Before I bought my Bronco, it was broken in to on the side of the road and the kids who stole the radio tried to hot-wire it. They ripped off the steering column cover (anybody know where to buy a new one?) and the previous owner said this caused the gear indicator in the guage cluster to malfunction. Does anybody know how to about fixing this?

There's a thin cable going from the shifter to the shift indicator. Once you take off the steering column cover, you'll see the small cable and the shift indicator component. The positioning is adjustable, just have to unscrew it and move it around till you get what you want.

Ahh, the green looking cable on the top of the column? It appears to be snapped, you think fishing wire will work as a substitute? :toothless

I don't know what year your bronco is but the newer ones have two peice colums summit sells the top peice of the colum with a pod on it for a gauge probaly way cheaper than buying a new one from ford and you get a cool gauge spot.
