JBG and Rock Auto list short and long ear clutch packs for the 96 8.8” rear-end. I have the stock LSD. Without pulling the diff cover off, how do I know which one I need? Sorry for the noob question, but did a search and couldn’t come up with anything.

Pretty sure 96 would be short ear. I think only early trac-locs were long ear. I’ve used short ear clutches in long ear carriers before too, and it worked fine. So I would just get short ear ones
