When I bought my 96 Bronco it had a skid plate over the transfer case. Is that stock or is that an option?

Second question, I have seen another Bronco with what looks like the same skid plate, but mounted 180 degrees different.

My skid plate is lower in the front than in the back, almost looks like it would scoop up rocks. The skid plate on the other guys bronco was lower in the back, seeming like it would lift it up and over rocks. What way is right?

I don't want to turn it around, just because I think that it looks better, if it doesn't work right that way.

Take it off and build a skid plate that can actually support the load of the truck. My stock skidplate got so mangled because it hung down so low.

I did it. I turned it around. Only drive in with the skidplate on backwards since I got it about a year ago.

Thanks again. It looks a lot better the right direction.

Backward skidplate wasn't hurting anything, as long as you weren't using it for a sand scoop.:toothless
