My smog pump is locked up. I was wanting to know if I could just "cut it out"

Its a 1987 5.8L H.O.

The factory converter(s) rely on the smop pump to operate correctly. You would have to either:

A) remove the converters also... (at your own risk, its illegal).

B) replace your stock converters with a modern one (ensure that you would pass your state's vehicle inspection, if you even have one).

From what i have read the pumps are pretty pointless, mostly for emission crap which you own a bronco so emissions are pretty much nothing when it comes to these older vehicles. The cats will work the same as any cat without them. But you will have to block of the line coming from the exhaust mainifold and from behind the heads if im correct. Im planning on taking mine off as well. I took it off my 87 Mustang with no issues. Just had to find the right size belt and block of the holes to the back of the heads as well.
