The youngest Son (my body tech) Just bought a 5 letter word for $600. Delivered to our shop about 150 miles from where it’s at.
hoped he would have went with an oval instead of a tie “ Real trucks don’t wear bow ties” grandpa saying. But it is what it is so I’ll be suckered into helping with it. Eventually!

I dunno. I thought that when my son drug a motorcycle home, but I ignored it long enough that he lost interest before I ever layed a wrench on it.

I’ll try but he’s my extra set of muscles when dropping T-cases, transmission, suspensions, and 4 cylinder engine transmission combos. Not to mention my discount parts guy (through work) my Snap On tools middle man, and he’s pretty cool

Is there really such a thing as a bad truck when we're talking about that age? Late 50s, early 60s?

It's been sitting for a while, that's fpr sure..I dig the older trucks, even the Chevy's..pics aren't great, but the body seems in pretty decent shape overall..guess that wouldn't be an issue either way since your son's a body tech..could make for a nice restomod project..

I used to be brand loyal to Ford, luckily I grew out of that shit quick. I avoid some brands and have preferences but have no brand loyalty. I have 2 chevys, a Ford and a Mazda in the driveway., My Honda is at my parent's house. For ATVs I have a Honda, Suzuki, and 2 Kawasakis. I like what I like and the logo on the front doesn't matter.

Given the vintage, if you can get a title, clean it up and get it running and driving even with no body work you could make money on that. Not a bad buy IMHO.

We’re expecting delivery this coming weekend, he said the floor is about 90% intact, wood bed is rotted (no biggie there) Frame is solid, has an inline 6 that hand cranked easily he said it shifts all gears (guessing its a stick but I didn’t ask) I think he said it’s a 64 3/4 ton. We have been looking for a father and son (with help from grandson/nephew) project, I’m not interested in making money on it, hell we’re rednecks so we get by with what we got and don’t care what the neighbors have. He wants to make it his work all haul all truck, I got my F350 quad cab dually.

@MojoJojo LOL. Spilled my coffee when you mentioned Redneck. That’s me....except I’m stuck in Miami.

Heck.... I drive a Bronco, a Wrangler, a ‘65 FJ40 with a copy of that trucks inline 6. Has 3 on tree too.

But what says more Red than an El Camino....yup, drive one too. Oh, and my daily is a Camaro SS....with Red stripes!

Update it’s apparently a 63 as the glass wraps back to the A pillar and 64 did not bend like that.
