Took the spare tire carrier off my '94 Eddie Bauer shortly after I bought the vehicle. The carrier has been at the coatings shop for a few weeks now and supposed to be ready for me tomorrow afternoon. Are there some critical things I need to be aware of as I get ready to reinstall it? Any parts that should be replaced proactively?

Thanks in advance.

i would think that proper alignment of the carrier to the support that's on the tailgate is critical

the bushings in the hinge at the rear quarter panel should be tight and clean (that squeak can drive you nuts)

the mechanism on the carrier that clamps on the tailgate support is a huge safety issue - make sure that's working flawlelssly

Unless I missed it, the parts diagram doesn't seem to show the upper or lower corner support horns, or the 3rd piece that is secured to the tailgate, which I guess is used to mount the spare wheel carrier support. Can someone tell me what that is called? I am also wondering about the two pins that go through the holes in the corner support horns. I picked up my spare tire carrier from the shop that powder coated it today, and those parts are missing. So, when I call them on Monday, I want to be able to reference exactly what is missing. Turned out really nice. Thanks in advance!
