I'm getting ready to fab a big drawer to put all of this in, so I can open the gate and slide it out and get to whatever I need. more on that later

If I may suggest; make it so, if you have to in an emergency, you can get to stuff in that drawer with the tailgate UP. It is verry, verry possible to get stuck where the gate will not open... I haven't done it yet, but I've talked to several guys, (2 of which had the drawer set up and couldn't get at there extraction equipmet), that have.
