I am actually posting this for 88MULE because he has no computer at the time. Anyways he has a 1988 Bronco Custom 302/C6/ manual BW1356. His Bronco will run fine then and then all of a sudden it idling up and down then every now and then it will stall. He tried setting the timing down to 10 degrees (was at 13 degrees) and no change. He has replaced the following.

IAC
Throttle position
EGR
ERG sensor
MAP sensor
Air Charge sensor
Water temp sensor
O2 sensor
Smog pump went bad and replaced
Vacuum relays
cleaned grounds
Tune up (plugs, plugs wires, distributer cap, rotor button)
Coil
PCV valve

Can not find vacuum leak anywhere?

The codes it has gave us is....

Low EGR signal
Low IAC signal
O2 sensor
thermacter (sp) system (basically its the smog pump)

Recently the alternator went out after all this?

Remember any new part can be bad. I would lean towards IAC.

same thing i just went through. tell him to test the iac, both electrical and mechanical. take it off and hook the connector to it, have someone turn the key to the on position and watch to see if the plunger moves. if it doesnt it is bad. there is no servicing these things.

issues like that can be caused by bad connections or weak wires. I would have him clean all terminals and for what they cost might as well replace all battery cables. check the ECM grounds, body grounds and frame/engine grounds.

Also tell him to do a wiggle test as well.
