This Bronco was spied during cold weather testing with significant changes compared to earlier versions we've seen.

Quote from R&T:
The 2020 Ford Bronco is one of the most hotly anticipated cars this year. We've seen tons of rumors, test mules, and renderings, but now, for the first time, we're finally seeing pictures of the real truck in the flesh.

Our spy photographer recently captured these pictures of the upcoming Bronco driving through a snow-covered field. How can we tell this is the actual truck? Well, it looks totally different from the vehicle—likely a Ranger-based mule—shown in Ford's recent desert test video. The truck you see here sports a more boxy design, with a squared off off and fenders. It looks more like a G-Wagen, Wrangler, or Suzuki Jimny than anything in Ford's current lineup. It's clear Ford is aiming for the rugged, off-roading segment here.

This truck more closely resembles the Bronco R Baja race truck than anything we've seen before. This makes sense considering Ford used aspects of the production Bronco on the R model.

The boxy design also supports the rumor the doors will come off, similar to the Wrangler. Sadly, the fascia for this test car has been covered with camouflaging material, so we can't confirm whether the headlight design leaked online in late 2019 is legit.

The Bronco is expected to share a powertrain with the Ranger, since both share a platform. Currently, the Ranger uses a 270 horsepower version of Ford's 2.3-liter Ecoboost inline-four, getting power to the wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. There's also expected to be a hybrid variant, though details on that powertrain are slim.

We expect to see the Bronco fully unveiled in Spring 2020. These spy shots make us even more excited for its long-awaited return. Check out our overview article on the Bronco if you want to read more on what we know of the truck so far.

Definitely "the one". My dads plant had the aluminum door dies in last week for some "observations", he saw a picture of this and sent it to me ASAP and said that's the exact shape of the doors that they had in last week. I'll be honest, I'm still excited for it!
