I have searched, but my problem is kind of unique, it seems.

Twice I have attempted to start the truck only to have it crank, sputter, rev, sputter, stop. It kind of acts like when you disconnect the inertia switch, which is why I suspect the fuel pump. The weird thing is it usually starts perfectly and idles and runs great. When it didn't start one time, I was able to let it sit for a bit, then started it after some more sputtering. Then I pulled out of my complex right into a stop light and it idled fine for maybe three minutes straight. What could cause a random affliction of bad start especially in super mild san diego weather??

get a haynes manual and a voltmeter and start testing. you can also rent a fuel pressure tester as well. Dont assume it is a pump and throw one in there. it could be the ECT, ICM etc.

Pull codes. Check fuel pressure. Check spark.
