I want to install a pillar spotlight on my bronco but I want to have it done cause I'd botch it if I did it myself, I'm wondering how much roughly it would cost for an install and is this something any mechanic shop can do? Or should I take the somewhere specific? And lastly my biggest concern is it intefers with my wing window, will that still be functional?

Thank you

Steve's right. I assume you're getting the kit from Chicago Lighting. If you do, all you need is a decent 12' long drill bit and a drill. The kit comes with all the patterns and hardward to place it correctly on your pillar. I was able to do it in a few hours, and it only took that long because I had to remove the additional wiring from my tranny temp guage first. Just follow the instructions and you'll do fine.

Only the person doing the work can tell you what it'll cost. But it's not complicated, so you might as well DIY. All it takes is a drill bit the size of the spotlight's shaft long enough to go through the A-pillar (NOT the door, so it has nothing to do with the vent window). I recommend buying a 12"-long bit so you can really tell 1) that it's close to level, & 2) that it's pointed the right direction. I've always removed the inside A-pillar trim, drilled through to the outside, then reinstalled the trim & drilled back through it. This describes a good way to locate the spotlight:

This was probably slightly higher than that:

I don't remember ever having vent window interference:

This shows parts & assembly for a Unity spotlight:

Note that the later design deletes the outside clamp/bezel, so you need to seal it somehow (probably RightStuff), or find an older one with metal head.
Thank you for the help, now that fire season is over i can finally put some of this hard earned money to good use :thumbup

last question, it sounds like there are two places to buy the spotlight, should i go with unity or chicago lighting?

I got a few unity spotlights from junkyard cop cars and bought the mounting kit separately. I haven't installed them yet but YouTube has some good tutorials for the installation.
