Today I get rid of my TTb and mounted the SA coil buckets....I moved them forward about an inch.....and now I´m going to dismount everything to be painted......the next step is to wait for all the parts to rebuild the SA that I think I´ll have them in 10 days.....here are some pics

Good start. Sorry if I'm wrong on this, but aren't you the one that bought a 78 but couldn't title it? If so, are you parting it out to do the SAS?

yes, you are right.....that´s me......I knew that I couldn´t title it....but I paid for the whole truck the same price than a SA D44 cost in my country.....so the rest is almost free....and I allways had the SAS idea in mind since I bought it...

What did you clean that axle with? looks great!
I cleaned it with a degreaser. phosphating product....eliminates all the oxide and corrosion....You have to let it work for a couple of hours and then clean with a lot of water.I used the same product when I did the interior of my truck.

Those are some burly TRE's !! Where did you order them from?
In my country it doesn´t exist the common chevy TREs that you use there or nothing like that....so we made this special part from 1 piece 1045 steel that will work like an adjusting sleeve and has the fiting for the drag link also with bigger tie rod.

The tie rods ar from an F7000 (truck)

Here are some pics from today

By montecarlo at 2010-09-02

I left the axle hanging with 2 threaded rods so I could set the same height in both sides....by adjusting a nut on top of the spring bucket.
