There is a significantly sized (10" x 6" roughly) that is located behind the driver side dash and seems to support the steering column. I need to unbolt this bracket to slip a wired quick connect for the blinkers. Is this bracket bearing the weight of steering column? Do I need to remove any of the dash components that encase the steering column? Can I simply support the steering column and drop the bracket enough to slip the quick connect through? Thanks for the help in advance.

So apparently there was enough room to slip it under the plate thingy and plug it in. Only issue now is the power in the cabin won't go off and the bronco won't start...LMFAO

Go to the Tech Writeups forum and read the thread about pre-'92 tilt ignition actuators. This is independent of any turn/hazard wiring.
