The steering in my Bronco was really sloppy when I bought it. What do I have to do to fix it?

It also has a tendancy to wander, even if I keep the wheel straight. How do I go about fixing that?

Thanks,
Eli

First off you need to find out if any of the front end steering linkage is loose or sloppy. tie rod ends, draglink also check balljoints and wheelbearing end play and if those are all fine maybe your steering box has some slop in it . that appears to be the problem with my 86 f150 and I have pretty much the same wondering problem. But I know the front end is all tight.

tie rod ends, ball joints, check your alignment, pitman arm could be worn, steering box could be worn.

check all that stuff
