My Bronco has a lot of play in the steering wheel. I can grab it at the shaft where it goes into the box and can move the thing with minimal effort side to side. From the box down it is tight. Do I need a new steering shaft? And, can the one I have be rebuilt? Thanks guys. :chili:

Is the movement coming from the bearing at the end of the column where it comes through the firewall? Its housed in plastic and snaps into the tube with the steering shaft running through it. I replaced my steering shaft with one from Flaming River (nice part) but alot of the slop on mine was that bearing I mentioned.

I just grabed the shaft and moved it left to right and could see the wheel in the truck turning.
