i hope that i have narrowed my 4wd vibration to my front driveshaft. so before i foolishly spend money like i normally do....here's my question. should the stock driveshaft be able to handle 4" of lift without (or little) vibration? i'd like to hear from the guys running a stock driveshaft with 4-6 inches of lift.

or is the double cardon joint the way to go?

before you ask....my driveshaft is so rusted i dont think its worth the money to balance it.

thanks

The 4" lift shouldn't cause any vibration issues. Just take the driveshaft down to a driveline shop and have it balanced. I'm sure they will even purty it up for you with a can of flat black to get rid of that rust look:toothless

IF my 4x is engaged I will start to feel vibes at at close to 50-55 MPH up. Then that is it's upper upper performance limit. But it should not even be engaged at all while normally driving.

I had mad vibrations on my rear driveshaft. U-joint was baked. About 8 months ago , My front driveshaft was jacked. Turns out the the U-joint was frozen and wouldn't move.

U-joint maybe?
