Hi gang. Let me start off by saying that my left outer hub bearing dissintigrated causing some damage. The bearing going bad was my bad for not checking them sooner. New hub comes in tomorrow.
My question is: My stub axle has 2 grooves around it, I know the groove near the end of the shaft is for the snap ring, what is the second groove for?
The second grove in the shaft is even with the end of the spindle and is a wider groove than the one that the snap ring goes on.
Should there be a second snapring or clip of some sort on the second groove?

Thanks steve. I was hoping someone would answer my question before tomorrow when I put it all back together and I while I have it apart this far I'm going to replace the spindle bearing also.
Oh, by the way, no luck on the Old Dominion root beer in this area. I checked 4 different stores and nobody carries it. Sorry, wish I could have helped you out. But I'll keep my eye out for it.
