So I went out to my bko to adjust the steering screw because my steering wheel has a few inches of slop/slack:doh0715:
I got my wrench and scerw driver and....it wouldnt turn! The nut and the bolt/screw thing wont move,AT ALL.
If you guys know any way to free it up,that would be great!:thumbup

supposed to adjust it with an in/lbs torq wrench on the steering wheel to set it correctly.

1. the screw on top is NOT for adjusting slop, its for setting the backlash, messing with it when you DO NOT know what your doing can endanger yours and anybody elses life thats around you when you crash.

Your "few inches of slop/slack" is likely not from your steering box. Check your steering shaft, rag joint, tie rod ends and ball joints.

Ok guys,I won't tighten that screw. My dad knows a couple thing to replace that should help with the slop. And redwagon....that's some deep stuff,glad I read that. :thumbsup:
