Another awesome trip! Chemfrk, his 2 boys, Shag90 and his son, and myself, had a blast at Superstition Mountain this weekend. We all gathered at my house sat morning and headed out on the 100 mile trek to the mountain. With an uneventfull drive and a quick stop for munchies at the Golden Acorn Casino, we arrived at our destination. We proceded to set up camp while Chemfrk and Chemkid went into El Centro on a "Wallquest". They ended up at Target:doh0715:. Shag90 and I decided to do a little exploring, 10min into it, we were both lost. I didn't know where he went, he didn't know where I went. We got back together and headed back to camp. After Chemfrk returned bearing many gifts we headed out again, going through many dirt hills. Shag90 took the first damage, breaking his trailer hitch cover:toothless.
We then ran through some open desert (I really need to tie my stuff down better:twak) and into the dunes. The dunes are small and perfect for learning on, NOONE got stuck, Chemfrk drives like a crazy man, he's not happy unless his Bronco is going sideways.:rockon
Then Shag90s right rear brake drum started smoking, we took it apart and found the piston frozen, some brake cleaner and PB-Blast fixed that right up. We headed back to camp for the night. Chemfrk cooked, the wind blew, and the fire roared while we told stories and laughed.
The next morning we packed up for some more wheeling. We went back through the dirt hills, and found some washes, I tried a narrow one, a little too narrow:banghead:doh0715: Yeah I got stuck, The pictures will tell that story. With alot of help from all my bronco bretherin I managed to back out of the notch. Suffering several small dents and a cracked taillight.:cry
From there we went back the dunes for some fun in the sand, we ended the day with some photoshoot runs, Hopefully they will end up in the next calander.
We then went into El Centro for some IN-N-OUT Burgers and fuel and headed home. No major issues, so it was a really good trip!:thumbup

the trip back was uneventful,
thanks again to Shag, his boy Zach, WasACop, and my boys for making it another wonderful weekend.

I usually run around there too 15ish, unless I am acually out at glamis or something, it makes the biggest diference. wht size lift do you have and do you have any issue with clearence with your radius arms and or body work? I have 33's now and have planety of clearance, but I want to go to 35's soon. I look forward to going wheelin with you guys looks like you guys have fun and in a family style atmosphere!

wasacop I see you got new super swampers do you like those better than the sx's
No, not really. I went with radials this time. Even though the radials and the sx's both claim 12.5 on the width, the tread on the radial is much smaller. And the radials don't air down/wrap around rocks like the sx's. The readon I went with the radials is they don't flat spot as bad as the sx's. Sx's don't like to sit for a long time, they will eventually go out of round.:banghead My Bronco is not a DD and being in the Navy my truck sits alot. So it was a compromise.:shrug
