1996 xlt, with "tow package"
code J4D

j= front part #f4ta-5310-ja
d= rear part # f4ta-5560-db

whats the 4 mean and were can i find the spring rates? trying to see if i can up grade to a better riding spring set up, while keeping stock or close to stock ride hight.

I believe the "4" is the year that the spring was introduced.

(rear) In this case '94. 94-96 had the same spring... in fact, the f4ta 5560 db is the only spring listed in my parts catalog...

(front)
Again, 94-96. it lists spring codes J,K,V and of course it would be too easy just to say which one is softer...

this info may or may not help, but I figured that I would try....

thanks for the reply. cant find anything other than heavy duty springs to carry more wieght:doh0715: nope that wont do. or the "leveling springs" not sure i want to go that route... cant find any spring rates as of yet.

Stock fr:410lb/in---rear:275lb/in

Most manufacturers 2" lift is the same as stock

4" lift fr:560lb/in--rear:stock
6" lift fr:580lb/in--rear:stock

Rancho never gave me a straight answer on spring rates."
