Anyone ever been? Its nothing like the dunes of Pismo, Glamis, Silver Lake, etc, but looks fun.

Syracuse is way out, almost on the western border with CO.

There is a 2 mile shooting range in Syracuse. I think next years vacation will be out there.

Hmm I dont have anything remotely capable of a two mile shot. 220 swift or 6.5 grendel would probably be my best shot out there. 270 wsm too. I dont really have any long action calibers. 8mm mauser is as big as I go, besides the 50 beowulf.

I don't know that I really do either, but it sounds fun to try. I think my 300 win or 28 nosler might get there. I have been itching to try some actual long range shooting with them. Farthest I have shot the 300 was about 550 and about 400 with the 28. Those are pretty easy shots for those rifles. Even 1 mile is over 3x farther than my longest shot. I would really like to try with 22lr since the boxes we got when we were kids said they were dangerous to 2 1/2 miles.

The 300 WM is a champ at 1 mile shots. Sure the 28N is too. Id have to say the 220 swift would have the range, but wind drift with that tiny bullet in the western ks wind would be horrific.

I dont think ive shot more than 150yds or so.

I was torn between a swift and a 22-250. I went with the 22-250 and have only put 5 rounds through it sighting it in. I want to take it out prairie dog shooting but havent found a place to go. That is probably a western KS thing too.

I have both, but the 22-250 is in a savage bolt action pistol. The swift is a much longer cartridge. Both are great coyote rounds.
