planning a converstion from eec iii to hei. i realize the hei dizzy cap has a tach contact, but where is the tach wire connected under the hood? the eec iii has zero wires going to it......everything controlled by the computer. i have looked at the haynes wiring diagram for a 1982, but have yet to find the tach wire. thanks for any help.

still hoping to id tach wire under hood on an 82 that has funky eec dist that is getting ready to bite the dust and go to hei.

i did it on a 302 but it was a dura spark system to hei I took the wires from the dizzy a touched each one to 12 volts When the tach jumped i knew which wire was tach This might help

well, there's a node on the dizzy that connects to a spade. someone on here had a diagram for which wire connects to the tach. if anything, just make one.

t is for tach b is for + source when on and when cranking.

I was gonna say on the connector for the Ford coil one side usually had tach embossed into it.
