Ok guys after finding this great information on how to replace your tailgate window motor I attempted to use a Tap & Die set to accomplish the same results.

And well here are the results of my attempt


So am I screwed as far as the "threading" idea for this motor?

Is it possible to just order the housing for the motor only from somewhere?

Well, you might be able to get the tap back out, but I think the housing would likely break before it came out.
I don't think you can order just the housing itself; but I have a spare tailgate regulator and motor assembly (tested the motor and it works) sitting here--make me an offer

Just go on ebay or JBG or where ever and buy yourself another motor. You shop a bit you can score one LINB for around $50

Just remember that motor is interchangeable with the left side door window motor.
