o.k.- when cruising and the truck shifts to higher gear and feels piggish i can tap my brake pedal and the truck decides to pull its head out and run like it should. if i dont tap brakes and keep pressing skinny pedal it downshifts and takes off. what is this all about??:banghead

torque converter lockup? I know the lockup is tied into the brake switch to disable it.

Yep.

You feel a difference because tapping the brake makes the EEC unlock the torque converter, so you get that little bit of added performance from a slipping converter at the cost of mileage. But it'll lock back up a second or two later.
O.K. that all makes sense - so its normal for the e4od to act that way... and i thought it was something serious. i thank you all for your time and input. would a c-6 act the same ? or is it only with elec. transmissions
if the transmission supports/has a lockup converter, it'll do it... It's just what lockup converters do
A C6 would not act the same because it doesn't have a lockup converter, nor will an AOD, but for a different reason.
isnt a c-6 better/stronger than the rest ?
