Technicians A & B are trying to identify an engine
Technician A says that only 429/460s came with timing chain cover dip sticks.
Technician B say BS because the motor in question has 8 valve cover bolts.

Who is correct?

Tech A is a goof. Tech B is right, but you still didn't state what engine Tech B thinks it is

No matter, 8 bolt valve covers are 351C, 351M or 400. Given that you've posted this in the 78-9 forum, it's NOT the 351C. How to ID between the 351M and the 400? Pull the oil pan, and check the numbers on the main caps - but, how to decifer the numbers, I can't remember
