Congrats on the FOTM win! Have you done the Saginaw swap yet? I did mine in April and it works a thousand times better than the old C2 pump!

No, I haven't done it yet, but plan to this fall. I'm expecting great things with it (at least there won't be any more "groaning")

Help! WTB - airbox lid

This is what happens on a '96 when you fill the airbox with starting fluid & it backfires.
Why didn't it start in the first place? Stupid me - I was washing under the hood & got moisture in the distributor cap. Don't worry, all is well now... except for this:

I'm looking for a replacement. If anyone has a spare laying around or can find one for me, please let me know. I'm looking locally, but honestly there's not much left in the yards around here. Obviously, I'm trying to get one just like the original, not one of the earlier ones with no ridges or FORD lettering. If I have to replace it (and I do), I want to keep it as original as possible.

Keep an eye out for me, ok?

There's a couple yards up here that have a bunch of 87-96 ford trucks/broncos. Usually an airbox is $35-45, I doubt shipping would be that bad, I'll be at the yards monday, and can take a look.

Just in case: Can you get a P/N off it and/or maybe a couple other pics (outlet/mounting/etc) so I can be looking for the right piece?

You're talking the MAF air box lid right? With the single outlet? I know there was a bunch at the KC muncie u pull it back around August. They will pull parts for you and ship them.

P.S. that's why you spray the starter fluid right in the throttle body... :goodfinge

Yes, single outlet. I have the 5.0L. I'll give them a call tomorrow & see if they have one. Thanks for the tip!

Some lessons are learned the hard way. :banghead

Halfway into a 10-hour trip, disaster struck! We were sidelined (on a Saturday evening) with a plugged up cat. The only option was to haul it home.
Now I'm looking for exhaust options (keeping it as close to stock as possible) and hope to get it on the road again very soon.

All of you on the Facebook Bronco groups have already seen the posts. I was "spotted" multiple times on the drive. lol!

Nice RNR trailer....

The bronco is cool, keep up the good build. Even if its just putting it back how you had it when it was in use. Killer story behind this.

I just noticed that your rear gate and quarter have the bolt holes for the swing-out spare carrier. I don't see a spare inside the cargo area either? If so, what do you do for a spare?

Spares (if carried) were just loose on the floor in the caged back area, with arrestees. More often, except for the very remote areas patrolled, they weren't carried. If you needed a spare, you'd call for the transport van to bring you one.

After months of tinkering, the AC finally works! Man, it's SO nice to have cold air in the summer!
Fuel gauge also works, after replacing the brass float in the tank.
Plugged up cats replaced, along with O2 sensors. She'll pass smog now, if I ever need it to (not required here).
And I replaced the CV joint, which made a HUGE difference in the number of rattles. It's smooth & quiet again!

Thought I had 100% of everything working... until I went to set my cruise control, and it didn't. Grrrr!
It's always something, isn't it?
