The M and G (New Pics Page 4 56K Warning!!!)
Let me first say, for those that couldn't make it, you all missed out on a really great time! Aside from the 6 trucks we had there and 10 total people we had show up (at one time or another) we happened to (by accident) plan the event the exact day at the exact restaraunt with the exact owner who was having his exact birthday with in the time limits to meet his 6-8 PM "Drinks on the house for everyone" criterea! That's right ladies and gentleman (hhhhrrrrmmmm SHANE) we drank for free from 6 to 8! I will give you a quick run down of the events as they are fresh in my mind. I should have pics up tomorrow and I'm sure Mel will have hers up soon.
Astra and I arrived about 3:30 about 3:50 a nice Bronco pulls up and there is a tough fellow behind the wheel. Low and behold there is the world renouned Ogeechee, better known as John. We introduced ourselves and went inside. The manager asked us what the party name was under, unfortunately, he wasn't quite sure who 79F150 or Dixiedoll were but fortunately there was only one back room, and it happened to be reserved for a party that sounded like us, so we went and sat down. Next BigBlackBronco (I think that's his online name), better known as Jeff show up in his sweet Black Bronco. For those that don't remember (he hasn't been on for a month) he's a local boy from Canton driving that lifted 95 (I think) with the fender flares and the sweet front bumper and funny quad-tubular rear bumper. Now mind you both of these boys were bigger then me, and I consider myself pretty big, so I figured if the Ford and/or Bronco name needed defending, we were pretty safe for the night. Shortly there after Jims88bronco also known as plain Jim showed up with his cousin (perhaps date, the jury is still out on that one, J/K). After some brief exchanges 79f150 and Dixiedoll, known as Dale and Tammy, came in and we decided it was time to check out everyone's trucks. Dale's F150 was bigger then it looks in the pics, as I learned, those trucks are big to begin with, let alone the body and suspension lift he has on it. Dale assures me almost everything under the truck is knew, including the knew 400 he has under the hood. Next we saw Jim's 88, a nice Eddie Bauer eddition with some custom work on Jim's part. Incuding the step bars, full metal spare tire cover and custom home built brushguard. We then moved on to John's (Ogeechee) bronco sporting his recent trail rash from the Mudtoberfest. Hopefully John will be able to replace his now "customized" bumper and trailer wires plug thingy. We then moved on to Jeff's, BigBlackBronco, nice truck. It is a really clean truck with some really large footprints on the ground. 17.5 to be exact! I also really liked his head unit which included a GPS along with the standard CD player and many other functions, including blackjack. Finally we took a look at my truck. Nothing special, I just got to show off my fairly fresh engine with the GT-40P heads and such, not much to look at but still a peppy 302. We went back in to the resaraunt and Astra and I's lunch/dinner had arrived as we had rudely order before everyone else because we were starving. As everyone settled down we echanged many stories and laughter, alot of laughter. Dixiedoll is a great conversationalist and has assured us that she will be joining in more on the board now that she feels the "condom picture" has left everyone's memory and no one will bring it up again. And incase you forgot:
Here it is!
I learned that John, Ogechee, is a senior in college getting a degree in printing management and is one of the nicest young men I have met, the man didn't swear or drink. Kudoos to you and your reservations! Jeff, bigblackbronco, is a senior in college getting a degree in Business. Jeff also hopes to persue a MBA after school. We learned that Jim is one funny mofo and all hope he will start sharing that humor on the board because he had us splitting our sides. He has been married 25 years with 3 daughters and the man doesn't look a day over 35 so you do the math. I wish I could report more on his cousin, but he (unfortunately) is a Heep man, and chose (wisely) to keep himself out of the Bronco discussion. Though he was dragged in many-a-times after Jim, in explaining the seperation of the checks to the waitress, refered to he and his cousin as "together!" After which time, and based off the fact he is from Alabama, we just had to take a few shots and the possibility of them not only being together, but of them being "together ." I also learned that Dale and Tammy, 79F150 and Dixiedoll, are a fun couple and are the proud parents of two children. Dale makes his f150 spending cash as a commercial electrician and Tammy is a programmer who works from home. Now you would think someone who works from home and her job is to stay on the computer for 8 hours, would have said something sooner then 10-06-2003 06:17 PM. But Tammy assures us she will be making more effort in the future. As the party continued, Mel, Broncobabe, showed up after helping her father with something. Mel attended the party in classic Mel fashion and kept herself quite, for the most part, with just a grin on her face that could only be translated as "I'm getting sssoooo much dirt on you people, you better not ever piss me off!" However I was able to wrestle out of her that after December 11, once she completes a class, she will FINALLY be allowed to be an "active" participant on the Kidney wait list, which for those that have been following, has been a long ordeal for our Mel. Once Mel arrived and everyone finished their meals, Jeff (being like 6'4) had to go meet his girlfriend (5'2) so we lined up the trucks for some group shots. I got some good pics so I will have them up soon. It was really nice to see that many trucks together like that! After Jeff took his leave of us, the party really kicked up, because that was when we learned we drank for free for the next two hours. And not just beer; beer, wine, and mixed drinks were all free! Well as I'm sure you can guess the "good times rolled" and everyone really seemed to enjoy the company and conversation. After a while, Tammy's sister Candy, and her husband Bill, decided to join us in our little party. Well, long story short (too late) the event lasted a few hours later. At which time Tammy, Dale, Candy, Bill, John, Astra and myself decided to go over the Dave and Buster's (Kind of an adult arcade.....no not that kind you sickos). Mel was still feeling down from her cold so she retired. A few more hours of blowing our hard earned Bronco money on mindless games that get us no where and the night was finally threw. Well, threw for Astra, John and myself. John went off to a motel he had booked in advanced, and Astra and I headed home. Arriving in the vicinity of 1ish it is now time for bed. I hope you all enjoyed my little story and those involved please correct me if I got anything wrong. I still have a little buzz so you will have to forgive me. I promise, to all those pic whores, I will get them up ASAP!
Good night all!
