thanks for the help regarding the location of the temp sender, i was able to switch it out last night! regarding that issue, this is the first time i have had my temp gauge working now since i bought the truck and after driving it last night i noticed the truck runs very cool. i'm wondering if this is due to the thermostat being a 160 or 180. will this rob me of any gas milage if the operating temp is lower and what is the recommended thermostat? 195?

only add on besides lift, suspension, tires is the magnaflow exhaust and headers - no cat

I think it's supposed to be a 190, but double check.

Another thing to consider though is to get an aftermarket gauge---well worth the $22.00, the 90 minutes to install it and your piece of mind.......

i am going to flush the system this weekend and was thinking about replacing the thermostat while i was at it. had some brown coolant when i replaced the temp sender...what i'm seeing is 195 so i dont see how it could hurt
